This design project for ReForest London aims to serve as a prime example of integrating sustainable and wellness strategies into an office space. This space will represent new beginnings for both Reforest London and the London community by transitioning from an underutilized historic building to a sustainable community-based hub. The goal of this project is to design an interactive space for both office users and young students who will utilize the classroom. The redesigned Perth Building will serve as a working office as well as an interactive learning space to teach visitors about sustainability and the environment. In this group project, I contributed by creating the design of the building in SketchUp, rendering images in Enscape, and designing custom features.

Drawing from the site’s rich indigenous history, the Perth Pavilion’s redesign will be inspired from the Indigenous representations of the blue heron. The blue heron, found across Canada, symbolizes determination, patience, and self reliance. This inspiration will be reflected in a calming, yet grounded atmosphere that inspires employees and guests to make sustainable change in the world.
The space will generate feelings of inclusivity, unity, productivity and comfort by incorporating nature, smart technology, and opportunities for customization. A connection to nature will be one of the main priorities as nature is proven to have healing abilities, such as stress reduction, attention restoration and increased energy, which are all beneficial within a work environment.
